World Affairs TODAY: Season 6, Episode 12: Getting Chemical Weapons Out of Syria

UN Security Council Resolution 2118 set out a plan open Syria's chemical weapons facilities over to international monitors and destroy their stockpile. While seen as a sign of progress and a step away from an outside military strike on Syria, what impact will the destruction of chemical weapons have on the conflict? How long will the process take? Is it likely to succeed, given past attempts in other countries to monitor and destroy chemical weapons? Will the removal of chemical weapons shorten the bloody and violent conflict? Michael Moodie, an expert in chemical weapons arms control and Joel Rubin of the Ploughshares Fund serve as panelists. Dr. Susan Koch of the National Defense University's Center for Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction moderates.
