One of the most famous and beloved of all Hungarian dishes is Chicken Paprikash. This recipe is full of rich flavor and tender chicken that is simply heavenly. It is a very simple but incredibly flavorful dish. With just a few basic ingredients of chicken, onion, green bell pepper, broth, and lots of paprika you will be surprised at the warm satisfying meal this offers. Chicken Paprikash Ingredients 2 pounds of chicken breast or thigh cut into chunks 2 Tbsp olive oil (can use bacon fat for added flavor) 2 large onion, large dice 1 green bell pepper, large dice 1 quart of chicken broth 3 to 4 Tbsp Hungarian paprika Instructions In a large pot saute onion and pepper in oil until tender. Add paprika. Add chicken and broth. Cover and cook for 3 to 4 hours on top of the stove on a medium to low heat. If cooking in a slow cooker cook on high for 6 to 8 hours. Hungarian Cucumber Salad Ingredients 4 to 6 small cucumbers Sliced onions (optional) 1/2 water 1/2 vinegar 1 Tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt Pinch of pepper Instructions Slice cucumbers as thin as you can. Add thinly sliced onions as many as you want as they are optional. Combine water, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.
