Minions THX Opening - Christmas 2024

I don't own the rights to the audio/music. We are a family from sunny Tucson, Arizona. We had experienced a few automated shows in our time. Many of the early versions of those shows were likely Light-O-Rama and used standard Christmas lighting instead of pixels. Although we always decorated extensively for Christmas, I don’t know that we ever planned on an automated Christmas show complete with props, controllers and thousands of pixels. Then, as Christmas 2022 came to a close, someone in our neighborhood wondered aloud who might be the first house in the neighborhood to setup one of these light shows. We accepted the challenge and throughout 2023 planned our setup, purchased the various items we needed, and created our show! It was a long, difficult process and we learned a tremendous amount along the way. Now in 2024 we feel like we are taking the show to the next level with both a Halloween show and a Christmas show. Our entire setup is 12V. As you will see in the videos, we outlined the house and our windows with WS2815 LED strip lights and then used the WS2811 bullet node pixels for the various props to include our matrix and mega tree. We ran our show using a Kulp K64D-B with a beaglebone black. Our mega-tree supplies, Rosa Wreaths, Hatitude Quartets, candy canes, arches and some of our other snowflakes came to us from our local supplier Gilbert Engineering. I cannot begin to list all of the articles we read and YouTube videos watched along the way as we learned, but we are thankful to all. If anyone comes to mind on YouTube it would be “How2Pixel.” If anyone is great about breaking things down into lay terms and helping a newbie to get started, he is the one. We are thankful to everyone who helped make the first two years a great success and we are looking forward to getting bigger and better.
