Best Survival Fire Tinder Test | Mini Inferno vs DIY Tinder (Cold & Wet Conditions)

In this survival gear test, I put the Mini Infernos from Self Reliance Outfitters (Dave Canterbury’s site) through a real challenge — the cold, wet Scottish Highlands with humidity over 97%. My kindling was soaked, but these tinders still caught a spark on the first strike and burned long enough to get a fire going. That’s impressive performance in some of the harshest conditions you can face outdoors. I also made my own DIY version to see how close I could get to the real thing. They worked surprisingly well — not quite as refined as the Mini Infernos, but effective enough for emergency use or bushcraft practice.
