How to Stop AMD GPU Black Screen Crashes (Driver Timeout Fix) (UPDATED) Ever since I bought the 'RX 7700 XT' I've been having black screen crashes on any demanding game which leads to drivers being corrupted upon restart. After 2 months of constant research online, trying out all kinds of fixes, I finally managed to stop all crashes on my AMD GPU. and yes, this FIX works on all AMD GPUs! NOTE: This worked for me and won't necessarily work for you too. It may or may not. I hope it does! 0:00 Underclock your GPU 0:40 AMD Black Screen Crash FIXED Search your GPU model + “boost clock” on Google (example: ASRock Steel Legend RX 7700 XT boost clock). Open AMD Adrenalin Software. Go to Performance → Tuning → Custom. Enable GPU Tuning and Max Frequency. Lower the Max Frequency slightly below your boost clock. Example: My RX 7700 XT had a 2600MHz boost clock. After lowering the max frequency to 2350MHz, the black screen crashes and driver timeouts completely stopped.
