Protesters waved rainbow flags during the rally organised by gay-rights group Equality Kansas, the American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. The bill, which would permit businesses and government employees to deny services based on sincerely held religious beliefs, is currently stalled in the Republican-controlled state Senate after passing the lower house.
