Kratos, Mimir, and Brok go with Freya to Vanaheim to find the magic source that keeps Freya bound to Midgard. As they arrive, Freya transforms into a falcon to keep herself from being sent back to Midgard. Suddenly, Brok gets caught in a trap made by a group of freedom fighters. One of them happens to be Freya's brother Freyr. Freyr also sees Mimir and is still angry about making Freya marry Odin. Luckily Freya stopped them from starting a fight and they all came to a peaceful agreement for the time being. Mimir and Brok stayed behind while Kratos and Freya went to find the magic source. As they are heading towards it, Kratos and Freya talk to each about being a parent and Kratos even tells her about his former wife and daughter. Eventually they find the magic source which turns out to be branches of the world tree from all the other realms stuck in a knot. Guarding it was Níðhögg, the Lyndwyrm who protects the branches of the World Tree. By working together, Freya and Kratos kill Níðhögg and then Freya breaks off all the world tree branches. Now Freya can travel to any realm that she pleases and forgives Kratos and joins his team. Although he tells her that he does not apologize for saving her life. When they return they pick up Mimir and Freya and her brother Freyr argue but hug it out in a peaceful manner. Kratos, Mimir, and Freya then return to Mimir's house with Brok telling them that Sindri and Atreus have been arguing so much. Freya goes to talk with Tyr and Kratos prepares himself to confront his son Atreus and to learn where he really went for 2 days. During this stream, I completed a bunch of side quests. One involved finding an orb for Brok's dwarf friend Lunda, which turned out to be a squeaky toy for her pet but she promised to put together an armor set free of charge for Kratos. Another one involved going to the wedding site where Odin and Freya got married and destroying items of her past and reclaiming a special sword of hers. The other side quests involved helping spirits that knew Freya.
