Increased internet use sees cyber threats surge 38 million, says report

38.8 million cyber threats were flagged between April and June this year as cyber criminals increased targets on Kenyans online. The Communications Authority of Kenya attributes the 37.3 percent quarter on quarter increase in cyber threats to targeted attacks at Internet of Things devices as well as to the rise in impersonation, online fraud and online abuse cases arising from increased internet access.
