Okay, yes, to be honest, this sounds more like the HeartGold and SoulSilver version to me. That's semi-what-I-based-this-remix-on. To this day, I still have no idea why Game Freak differed the music in the Kanto half of GSC from the music in RGBY, the Game Boy Color practically used the same sound chip as the original Game Boy? Nonetheless, I still like this theme, it's perfect for the "trying to catch a Pokémon but miserably failing because it keeps running away" setting.
