Britney Spears poses with award SPEARS NAMED WOMAN OF THE YEAR Pop star Britney Spears scooped the 14th Annual Glamour magazine Women of the Year award, in New York City November 10, 2003. Spears was honoured for her work helping underprivileged youth experience the arts. The pop princess recently founded The Britney Spears Camp for Performing Arts on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, aimed at creating opportunities for deprived youngsters to experience the arts. The annual awards reward "extraordinary and inspirational" women from a variety of field including entertainment, politics, fashion, music, sports and military service. Other winners included the double Oscar winning actress and UNICEF Ambassador Jessica Lange, comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Jordan's Queen Noor and fashion designer Vera Wang. Presenters included Sharon Stone and Sarah Michelle Geller.
