Completed in 2 turns (68 total). Challenge playlist: • FE9 0% growths - Low Turn Counts Playthrough This is the most luck-reliant strategy I've developed so far. A 3-turn clear also acquires a Laguz Bow, a Secret Book and is quite a lot more reliable with bosskilling (Titania's Short Axe + Zihark's Killing Edge crit or Short Axe + normal KE attack + Jill forged Steel Axe are both enough to defeat the boss in one round) but I like how much you can accomplish within 2 turns and found the 2-turn strat more constrained but more interesting in that you can get many things done in 50% less time spent here. It's a Fog of War map (don't get many of these in this game) and the main danger here is the boss. A Berserker with a 15% crit bonus and they were so nice they gave him a Killer Axe so he now has 50% crit on your folks. He is unlikely to kill anyone if you only have evasive sword users attack him at point-blank range; otherwise, it's roulette for you and your attempt at low-turn completion, because his crit cannot be absorbed in 0% growths (with others chipping in at you). If you fail to kill him but hurt him sufficiently, he'll also run away from you while healing himself and I remember when I first played the game, he actually ran away pretty far into the rivers or mountains or shit, and I kept waiting for him to come back because I was afraid I'd have to restart. Good Lord. Anyway, none of this is applicable here as Titania shoved/smited 3 squares gets just close enough to drop promoted Zihark in his attack range. With a forged Steel Sword, Zihark needs to countercrit the boss on enemy phase to secure the 2-turn. He has Adept to help him out. He's one point short of doubling, so I would only be able to double this boss if I gave a Speedwings to Zihark. Not worth it I say, especially with Stefan joining soon. This makes the strat, what, only 10% reliable? Since Zihark will occasionally get critted. I only restarted, like, thrice though, in spite of recording like 5 other variations of this chapter's completion, including one where I get everything in 3 turns and Volke even steals an Antitoxin from a Bandit that appears out of a river on turn 3. Not worth it I say; though Laguz Bow wouldn't be an entirely bad weapon for Geoffrey in certain chapters. Jill gets promoted before the chapter and has just enough AS to double the weighed down Steel Axe Fighter appearing from the darkness in the west. Her job is to get the Laguz Lance (essential for next chapter) and allow Marcia to recruit Makalov, who visits the Vantage village (not entirely sure what to do with this one skill, but it's definitely a good one). Titania takes the first Occult scroll. With decent enough skill and doubling with 16 AS for a while from now, Titania's chances of survival go up quite a bit. Too bad I didn't have Sol for chapter 7; would've saved me quite a few resets there. Challenge playlist: • FE9 0% growths - Low Turn Counts Playthrough
