Australia approves radical medical treatments to aid mental health ‘epidemic’

The TGA’s approval for authorised psychiatrists to prescribe psilocybin and MDMA for the treatment of PTSD was done to assist Australia’s “mental health epidemic”, according to Mind Matters Australia Executive Director Tania De Jong. “The controls around this are very, very tight,” she told Sky News host Rita Panahi. “So the TGA has specified that only authorised prescribers … can use them for treatment-resistant patients.”
