We follow Atsu a young women who's peaceful childhood was destroyed forcing her to leave her homeland of Ezo to mainland Japan where she learnt to fight as a mercenary fighting for whoever would pay. After sixteen years away she returns to Ezo on a vow of vengeance for her family who were killed by the Yotei Six lead by the charismatic and ruthless Lord Saito. Atsu commits to killing all six killers no matter the cost, her actions lead to a new legend of 'the Onryo' which spreads across Ezo.
