Tucked between jungle-covered mountains where the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers meet, this UNESCO World Heritage town has a way of stopping you in your tracks the moment you arrive. The golden temples, the friendly locals, the unhurried pace of life - we were completely captivated from day one. In this video we take you through everything that makes Luang Prabang so special. We witnessed the incredibly moving Tak Bat alms-giving ceremony at dawn, explored the famous night market, climbed Phousi Hill for those breathtaking panoramic views you've seen all over social media, and strolled along the peaceful riverside. And yes - we made the trip out to Kuang Si Waterfall, and those turquoise pools are every bit as stunning in person as they look in photos.
