TUNA BREAKS FISHING POLE!!! | HAWAII KAYAK FISHING | LIVE BAIT FISHING | PENN SPINFISHER VI 8500

Hello again YouTube, Thanks for tuning to another Hawaii kayak fishing venture. This footage was taken last year on the island of Oahu. I was able to pick up some bait with my buddy Kevin early before sunrise so we headed out to our fishing spot right away. I managed to hook into this yellow fin tuna (SHIBI) which initially thought was a rainbow runner but when it came up I had seen it was a tuna. Unfortunately I had my drag set too tight and this fish was not done fighting when I was about to gaff him. He dove straight down and had my pole angled too high and snapped my rod right in half. I had to hand line him in a little and then gaffed it right away. My buddy Kevin had also hooked up to a SHIBI and all in all it was a good day for us both.
