WAR OF THE WORLDS 4K UHD BLU-RAY REVIEW 2005

Steven Spielberg's 2005 science fiction horror (of sorts!) starring Tom Cruise and based on the classic H.G. Wells novel. A film that seems to improve with every watching and aided by this very good quality 4K cine to video transfer that I think may actually be better than the 35mm general release print I saw at the cinema in September 2005. The sound has been re-worked into Dolby Atmos for this release but the Blu-ray in the pack has DTS sound and must be the original Blu-ray and not taken from the same video master file as the 4K as the image quality is somewhat lacklustre and nowhere near the quality of the newer 4K. I've had my copy since 2020 when it was initially released and have reviewed it now as several people asked me to following my recent review of the 1953 film 'The War of the Worlds' based on the same source novel.
