Lil Tecca Opens Up On Dark Thoughts, Working w/Juice WRLD & Quitting Music

Lil Tecca stopped by HOT 97 to talk to Nessa about his new single “Dark Thoughts” and his upcoming project Dopamine. He reflected on his early success with “Ransom,” how his parents helped him stay grounded, and the creative freedom that drew him deeper into music. Tecca talked about growing up on dancehall, wanting to play for the Bulls, and how the smell of curry goat reminds him of home. He opened up about being serious when he once said he wanted to quit music and shared that the hardest lesson he’s learned is “no one is going to save you.” He also gave a glimpse into Dopamine, describing it as the album he’s waited his whole life to make—sonically and melodically true to him.
