Hemophilia is a life-threatening, genetic bleeding disorder that affects the blood's ability to properly clot. It occurs in approximately 1 in 10,000 births. Von Willebrand Disease (vWD) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by a missing or defective von Willebrand factor protein. vWD occurs in as many as 1 in 100 births, making it the world’s most common bleeding disorder.
