Protesters in Kerala have clashed with Police in Perumbavoor on the brutal rape and murder of the law student. There were no arrests made in the case other than detaining 3 for the same. That is why people have been protesting and police had to resort to Lathi charge to disperse the group of people. Police have also released the sketch of the what they believe is the rapist and is on the look out of the alleged rapist. Meanwhile Kerala Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy had visited the family of the victim of the Kerala rape at hospital in Perumbavoor of Ernakulam district. He has also issued a statement that the state government will give job to the victims sister and will seek the permission of the Election Commission to do so. It is reported that the Kerala rape victim's mother had complained that her daughter was being harassed by for about a year, but since the victim's mother was mentally unstable her statement was not taken seriously by the police. The police dismissed her as being paranoid and didn't register her complaint or enquire into any of her complaints. The National Human Rights Commission have also taken cognizance of this case issuing notice to top bureaucrats, government officials asking them to submit a detailed report and also about action that have been taken within two weeks.
