This is a sad love-song because the guy lost his girlfriend to someone else and is desperately longing for a reunion ... Melancholic ballads are the ideal stuff to be played in fingerpicking on a 6string guitar. Study the technique of Finger-Picking (Travis-Picking), with your right thumb playing an alternating bass and your fingers playing the melody. Then start to play your favourite songs in a very entertaining and fascinating guitar-style. And don't forget: To support musicians, you have to pay for their music. Streaming is stealing – Spotify (and all the other streaming-services) are not paying artists satisfactorily!
