Odaliska Almonte North Carolina National Guard FORT IRWIN, Calif. - Over 4,200 Soldiers made final preparations, June 30, 2019, before Operation Hickory Sting goes live. The over 4,000 soldiers are comprised not only from the 30th Armor Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) but also from the Ohio National Guard, South Carolina National Guard, and West Virginia National Guard, along with the Moldovan Army. The operation focuses on combined arms maneuvers and collective gunnery at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, providing the best and most current combat training available in the U.S. Army preparing the ABCT for deployment overseas later this fall.
