On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the "Miracle on the Hudson" when Captain "Sully" Sullenberger glided his malfunctioning plane into the icy waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 people on board. But while Sully was still being celebrated by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of piloting, an investigation into the incident, which nearly ruined his reputation and career, was already underway. Other key roles in "Sully" are played by Aaron Eckhart ("Olympus Has Fallen," "The Dark Knight") as Sully's co-pilot Jeff Skiles and Oscar nominee Laura Linney ("The Savages," "Kinsey," Showtime series "The Big C") as Sully's wife, Lorraine Sullenberger. Eastwood directs Todd Komarnicki's screenplay, based on the book "You Don't Have to Be a Hero" by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. Eastwood produces with Frank Marshall, Allyn Stewart, and Tim Moore. Kipp Nelson and Bruce Berman are executive producers. The film reunites Eastwood with several of his longtime collaborators who last worked with the director on the global hit "American Sniper": cinematographer Tom Stern and production designer James J. Murakami, both of whom received Oscar nominations for their contributions to "Changeling," costume designer Deborah Hopper, and editor Blu Murray. Warner Bros.
