President Park orders military commanders to retaliate against North Korean provocations

President Park has called on the nation's military to strongly retaliate against any North Korean provocation. She made the direct appeal on Wednesday at a luncheon with about 140 key commanders, including Defense Minister Han Min-koo. The president said the North's behavior had been unpredictable of late,... ranging from plans to send athletes to the upcoming Asian Games in the South.... to artillery and missile tests. She said it was important to make clear to the North Korean leadership that there would be severe consequences for any type of attack, and added she had the utmost confidence in the South Korean military to counter the threat.
