Disturbing Video Game Music [36]: Fate/Serious

Bit of a personal pick (I guess they all are) this time, this song disturbs me on a deep level even though there's nothing really scary about it, and it has ever since the first time I heard it when I was a wee lad. Something about the name "Fate", combined with the almost tragic, in-your-face tone of the melody, plus the fact that the first time you're likely to see it is when you encounter a Zombie Dog, painted a very sad and existentially troubling picture in my head. I couldn't help but imagine the implication of it all, like it was saying that it was all pets' "fate" to die, decay, and eventually lose all sense of who they once were and what they once meant to somebody to become these mindless monsters. I imagine a scene like you'd see in a zombie movie, where the protagonist has just been forced to kill their dog after it got infected by the zombie virus and lost their mind and attacked them, and while they're cradling their beloved pet's body, a mutated and corrupted mockery of their life and the bond they shared before it was brutally ripped apart, this song is standing over them and *laughing*.
