John Raitt—the original Billy Bigelow in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel—gives a powerful (if abbreviated) rendition of his signature "Soliloquy", replete with a high B-flat and all, in a rare 1955 studio session. American composer George Bassman conducts. Source and sound The original audio source was a beautiful, clean mono transfer released on Stage Door records (see www.stagedoorrecords.com/stage9072.html).
