ðĨGERBER FIRE STARTERðĨ This is a great every day carry survival tool from the now historic Gerber survival range and is based on the model that carried the Bear Grylls name. The Bear Gryll's Fire Starter is now a discontinued model but was an incredibly useful survival tool and one that shouldn't be overlooked if your looking for a reliable and functional survival fire starter (fire steel). Bear Gryll's can be a controversial figure for many in the outdoors / bushcraft and survival scene and a lot of the Gerber survival tools that carried his name got mixed reviews in tests over the years. But i can safely say from over 2 years of testing his original fire starter and this newer version that they could justify its place in any ones survival kit. This newer modle also contains a safety whistle but it is a much better one than that on the original Bear Grylls version. It is built stronger and is much louder. As i said the original model is discontinued, but it can still be found online for about ÂĢ18 in the UK. But the newer Gerber version shown in this video can be bought for around ÂĢ20.
