Zigzag Join: – For the zigzag join, work with a light touch to avoid puckering. Stay loose. Horizontal Joins: – Place squares side by side with RS facing. – Sl st into both corner ch-sps to join. – Insert hook into st of lower square, sl st. Insert into corresponding st of upper square, sl st. – Repeat across, alternating bottom and top sts, to create braid-like effect. – Continue joining all squares horizontally before moving to vertical joins. Vertical Joins: – Rotate work and repeat same method, beginning at corner and working across. – At intersections, work sl st through both strands of corner chains to secure. Zigzag Border: Foundation Round: With chosen border color, sc evenly around. – 3 sc in each corner. 5 sc if it is not staying flat. – Where joins meet, place 2 sc in one corner and 1 sc in the other for balance. Zigzag Round: Sl st in first st, *ch 1, sl st in next st; repeat from * around entire border. Fasten off. If you see an error in the pattern, please let me know. Happy Crocheting!
