Save Your Lower Back! Try this T-Spine Snatch Drill to help you Learn How To Extend Safely in your upper body in the Olympic Lifts. We use the Snatch grip in the video, but you can do this with a Clean grip as well, of course. Everyone keeps telling you to EXTEND more - not just in the hips and knees.. but in the torso. But what often gets neglected is how HORRIBLE it is for you if you try to get the LOOK of that extension by bending backwards in the lower spine. OUCH! Instead, learn how to STABILIZE the lower back, and extend at the T-Spine instead. This is a drill that should be done with a PVC, Stick, or Empty Bar... I suppose you could add some weight, but I'd be wary of loading it up. It's a mobility drill and motor-pattern-learning drill. Not a "Bro" drill, lol.
