This painting was inspired by the Lunar eclipse we had in late May. Images of a large blood red moon flooded the internet. Amazing colours bringing about a fascination of all things Space! It was pretty cold out as its almost winter in Austrealia in May but with our warm pj's on we all flew outside every 20 minutes to see the moon going from this massive glowing white orb to an illuminous dark red as the eclipse took place. I tried to capture the Ora given off as it entered full eclipse in this painting and my young apprentice makes an appearance giving me her take on how it should look as well! This style of painting is not difficult and can look really effective with a few paint splatters, some vibrant colours pushed around the canvas and I hope you're inspired to give it a go too! So with that said grab some paint brushes a sponge or two something to paint on and of course the kids acrylic paint set and let's get stuck into it!
