A section of Meru residents have threatened to boycott the general election in August saying both governments have neglected them. The residents from the upper side of Tigania West Sub-County lamented that despite both national and county governments allocating big chunks of money to development, especially water, they have been forced to walk more than 20km to look for the commodities. The residents who demonstrated at Mumui area paralysing operations in the area threatening to block the Meru-Isiolo road said if their grievances are not addressed they will not vote.
