𝗣𝗚𝗟𝗗𝗡-𝗣𝗛𝗢, 𝗗𝗢𝗛 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵-𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘀-𝗥𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮, 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝘃𝗮𝘅 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 TUBOD, Lanao del Norte - During the first flag ceremony of the month of May, today, the Provincial Health Office (PHO), in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) joined the simultaneous launching of the nationwide campaign to vaccinate kids with Measles-Rubella (MR) and Oral Polio Vaccine. For the whole month of May, the DOH, PHO, and all Rural Health Units in all municipalities will conduct a “Chikiting Ligtas” supplemental immunization campaign nationwide to reduce the number of children who have not received any routine vaccine. "Hopefully, we can vaccinate 95% of the eligible population. We encourage every parent and katong naay mga apo aged less than 5 years old to have them vaccinated," Dr. Cristie Joy Indoc, Provincial Health Officer said. The supplemental immunization campaign does not only aim to protect children from the threat of measles, rubella, and polio but also to restore public trust in life-saving vaccines. To officially launch, a ceremonial vaccination for children was demonstrated in the presence of all the PGLDN employees and officials. "Let us not wait for an outbreak of these diseases, let us help the Department of Health in the implementation of this activity so that our children will not succumb to these diseases," Dr. Jovette Guinal, LDN-PDOHO said. By the end of the short program, the PHO personnel lead a zumba dance with the official Chikiting Ligtas jingle.
