1998 Rally of the Lakes

An unusually high attrition rate on the 1998 Rally Of The Lakes appeared to have left Austin McHale with a clear run to victory but suspension problems and running repairs in the closing stages saw the application of time penalties allowing James Leckey to claim his one and only international rally win.
