Associate Professor of Epidemiology (Microbial Disease), Yale School of Public Health Presentation: "Microbial forecasting: How do we predict the impact of climate change on infectious diseases?" Date: October 5, 2020 Virginia Pitzer, Sc.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health. She received her Sc.D. in Epidemiology from Harvard School of Public Health, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University and Fogarty International Center/National Institutes of Health prior to joining the Yale faculty in 2012. Her research focuses on mathematical modeling of the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases, including elucidation of climate drivers of the seasonality and spatiotemporal patterning of respiratory syncytial virus, rotavirus, typhoid fever, and cholera. ### The Yale Center on Climate Change and Health utilizes research, education, and public health practice to help safeguard the health of human populations from adverse impacts of climate change and human activities that cause climate change.
