Fubon Group’s Tsai brothers top Forbes list of richest people in Taiwan

Forbes magazine has released its list of Taiwan’s top 50 richest people in 2023. The list is headed by Daniel Tsai and Richard Tsai, who run Fubon Group. The two brothers have a net worth of US$8.8 billion, or about NT$270 billion. And it’s not their first time at the top. The two also headed the list back in 2017. Let’s hear from an analyst. Cyrus Hsieh Financial analyst Fubon Group, besides Fubon Financial Holdings, is also involved in ecommerce. Another business of theirs that has performed very strongly recently is Taiwan Mobile, which is one of the three leading telecoms. These two could even outperform their financial services. There was a period where adjustments in share prices shrunk their net worth somewhat. No. 2 on the list went to the Wei brothers of Ting Hsin International group, a food and beverage conglomerate. The third spot went to Lin Shu-hong, the co-founder of petrochemical conglomerate Chang Chun Group.
