In this pastel painting tutorial, I'm thrilled to share my FOUR EASY TIPS that will help you master the art of painting Smokey Blue Mountains, and most mountains in general. ðïļ Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting your creative adventure, this tutorial is tailor-made for all artistic levels. In this video, I work on an affordable piece of Canson MiTientes pastel paper, and I'll also introduce you to some fantastic new sets of soft pastels by Diane Townsend. These pastels have a gorgeous application and vibrant color. (links below) Here are the 4 Tips that you will see demonstrated in the Lesson: 1. Layer Your Initial Values in Order of: Medium / Dark / Light 2. Color Temperature Rules: Cooler Colors on lower parts of mountains and shadow sides / Warmer Colors on sunlit areas 3. Soft Edges: There should be no hard edges where mountains meet the sky. Keep the transition soft with the two melding into one another 4. Distant Mountains: As mountain ranges progress in the distance they should follow the general rules of value and color temperature... gradually getting lighter and cooler as they recede further away Are you ready to get started?
