Naksa or "setback" in Arabic is officially marked on Sunday. On June 5, 1967, Israeli warplanes destroyed more than 400 military aircraft belonging to Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Iraq, most of them sitting on the tarmac at various airfields. Egypt lost the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip, Syria the Golan Heights, and Jordan lost the West Bank and east Jerusalem. Their defeat in the Six Day War remains a deep wound among Arabs.
