Patient zero in Victoria’s hotel quarantine debacle identified

It has been revealed patient zero in Victoria’s infamous hotel quarantine debacle was not a misbehaving security guard, but a night duty manager at the Rydges hotel – one of Melbourne’s busiest quarantine locations. It is widely believed the failed quarantine program is the source of every case throughout Victoria. The Age has reported leaked emails showing the manager came down with a fever on May 25; the following afternoon Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions officials were informed he had tested positive for COVID-19. It is assumed the virus was contracted from a returned traveler who is yet to be identified. Image: News Corp Australia
