The battle between Chancellor Palpatine and Mace Windu in 2005's REVENGE OF THE SITH was originally going to utilize mostly stunt doubles for the duel that would get a digital face replacement because Ian McDiarmid was 59-60 at the time of Principal Photography (2003-2004) and Samuel L. Jackson was 55-56. Stunt Coordinator Nick Gillard had choreographed the whole fight by the time shooting started ( you can find his YouTube channel here -    / @gillardstunts   ). But at the last minute, Writer/Director George Lucas wanted to change the fight to include more of McDiarmid and Jackson doing the duel themselves because doing almost the entire fight with stunt doubles would have made the CGI work extensive on the digital face replacements. So Ian McDiarmid in particular had to learn a lot of the choreography not long before shooting began and Nick Gillard had to rework the fight to include his closeups more often, which slowed the pace of the original choreography down. This is an edit of the duel between Windu and Palpatine that attempts to match the speed and ferocity of Nick Gillard's original Pre-vis. The scene has also been remixed with more intense Sound FX to increase the ferocity of the duel.
