A senior Russian general has been killed in a car bomb attack outside his home near Moscow, the latest in a series of high-profile assassinations since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov was a key figure in preparing Russian forces for deployment, with previous service in Chechnya and Syria.
