Cost of living crisis: Keeping kids warm

Labour County Councillor for Ramsgate, Karen Constantine drew a lot of attention with a proposal to utilise schools as places where children could stay warm this winter. The idea to open schools for longer was one of a number of suggestions in a letter to Kent County Council leader, Roger Gough, where Ms Constantine questioned KCC's response to the growing crisis around heating bills and the spiralling cost of living. Amongst the media reporting the story was BBC Radio Kent and Karen spoke to Steve Ladner about the context for her proposal and the effects that the cost of living crisis is having on residents in Ramsgate and the wider Kent area.
