A total of 73,000 taka has been fined to several establishments for irregularities, storing expired medicines and not having a license. The upazila administration and Sitakunda Model Police Station jointly conducted the operation. During the operation, four shops were fined under the Consumer Rights and Medicines Act for storing unapproved drugs and expired medicines. Upazila officer Khairul Islam said that such surveillance and mobile court operations will continue to protect public health.
