Showcasing some knife drills and exercises as well as some techniques using the body's natural blades - the elbows. Also, since one of my favorite knives is the Cold Steel Urban Pal, I decided to include some fancy Panantukan techniques applied to the push dagger. In my opinion, one of the advantages of the Urban Pal is that even while one is holding it, the same hand can be used for checking, trapping and redirecting since it pretty much stays in place even when you open your hand. The shape of the handle and the quality of the rubber allow the push blade to sit snugly in between the fingers. Also, I love how simple boxing moves can be executed using the push dagger. My FMA background includes Rapido Realismo Kali, Modern Arnis, and some limited Pekiti Tirsia Kali and Dekiti Tirsia Siradas. Gratitude goes to Batikang Guro Isagani Abon for the Panantukan techniques. All training blades used in the video courtesy of Guro Gerald Pilapil.
