Iran news in brief, November 4, 2020 Coronavirus Outbreak Among Political Prisoners in Tehran At least 20 political prisoners detained in November 2019 protests have been infected with OVID-19 in the Greater Tehran Penitentiary. Limitations have been implemented for these prisoners in calling their families to prevent the news from leaking out. These prisoners who are held in the prison’s Section 2, have been experiencing symptoms such as fever and chills, dizziness, body aches, headaches, diarrhea, and severe vomiting since Thursday. Instead of providing medical care, the prison authorities are trying to hide and cover up the issue by closing the halls and cutting off phone lines. Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll Surpasses 141,700 in 462 Cities Over 141,700 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 462 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran as of Tuesday afternoon local time. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 36,160, around a fourth of the actual figure.
