Iraqis react to Trump immigration policy

(29 Jan 2017) Iraqis on the frontline in Mosul were confused on Sunday by US President Donald Trump's executive order temporarily banning citizens from Iraq and six other Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States. The order, signed on Friday, included a 90-day ban on travel to the US by citizens of Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen. It also suspended the US refugee programme for four months. The Iraqi government said it understands the security motives behind Trump's decision but underlined that their "special relationship" should be taken into consideration.
