(27 Aug 2014) Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the newly-constructed Otkrytie Arena in Moscow on Wednesday (27 August). SCRIPTING INFORMATION: Spartak Moscow's new 42,000-seater stadium, the Otkrytie Arena, will officially open on 5th September when Spartak face Serbian side FC Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) in a friendly. The stadium is one of the venues for the 2018 World Cup, as was Spartak's old ground, the Luzhniki Stadium. Vladimir Putin's visit coincided with a training session of Spartak's youth academy, and the Russian president stayed to watch some of the session.
