Halo Suite Stitches (ODST) | “Speed Zone Ahead”

This video is not monetized, and all pieces used have been trimmed/edited/mixed. All pieces were composed by Martin O'Donnell/Michael Salvatori (of Bungie Studios circa 2009) for Halo 3: ODST. I doubt saying these things will stop potential copyright strikes, but it was worth a shot... :P Here’s a project I basically pulled from its grave. Seriously, the original version is as old as October 2017. As I’ve stated previously, I used to feel that ‘simpler’ projects like this one weren’t really up to the standards that my Mini-Medley series set, so this project was canned pretty early on. However, with the advent of not only me starting to use in-game loops, but also the creation of my Suite Stitches side series, now was the ideal time to finally bring this back into fruition. This is actually the very first ODST-centric mix I’ve made thus far. Why? It’s certainly not because I think ODST has a bad soundtrack (I actually think it contains some of the most atmospheric tracks in the franchise, namely during the Mombassa Street sequences), it’s just SO unique that I never really saw any tracks worth connecting to other games (aside from that one time in “Tales From the Glass”). I did, however, have a few ideas for tracks that can be internally connected (seeing as how ODST is a very suite-heavy game) and the Traffic Jam (Look Both Ways) theme was the most ideal of the bunch (technically the second most, but I think enough other people have tackled the Skyline-related tracks). Speaking of which, let’s get to talking about the mix itself. The whole thing can be broken down into 3 main parts: The Special Delivery loops, the Look Both Ways loops, and the Look Both Ways OST. I decided not to include the OST version of Special Delivery because it’s almost entirely redundant with respect to the loop version. However, the same could not be said for Look Both Ways. The loop version of the track has the guitar simply play the existing melody whereas the OST version (from Traffic Jam) has the guitar do an improvised (solo-like) riff on top of the melody. I tried as hard as I could to get those two guitar sections to play together, but there was just too much interference between them; thus, I decided to give them each their own part of the mix. The end result is a bit longer of a mix than I initially wanted, but it’ll have to do! Enjoy! SoundCloud link: https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/2uj9Vxe... 6:40 - The Indifferent emote. The original project I already had going had this as its emote so why not? Thumbnail - Concept art for Halo 3: ODST. Copied from http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/File:Battl...
