We were honored to welcome United States Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo for the closing night of the Finance Festival, for a fireside chat with Ladies Get Paid Co-Founder & CEO Ashley Louise. Secretary Raimondo joined us at a critical moment in time for American women who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women lost approximately 1 million more jobs than men as a result of the pandemic. Women of color, specifically Black women, were the hardest hit among all population groups. “I am thrilled to join an empowered community of women to discuss how we are going to build back better – and more equitably – for women all across our country,” said U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M.
