As a Process - Six Sigma can be explained as a highly disciplined process that focuses on developing and delivering near-perfect products and services consistently. 2. Management Strategy - It can be explained as a management strategy to use statistical tools and project work to achieve breakthrough profitability and quantum gains in quality. 3. Culture - Six Sigma can be explained as a high-performance culture. 4. Change Management - Six Sigma can be defined as a change management step. 5. Six Sigma as a set of tools - Contains qualitative and quantitative tools that Six Sigma practitioners use to drive improvements. Examples include Control charts, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) process mapping, etc. 6. Six Sigma Thinking - All processes can be Defined, Measured, Analyzed, and Improved and Controlled (phases of Six Sigma). The collection of the above phases is popularly known as DMAIC.
