Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Jun 21 08 C

You know, maybe 95% of the matches online seem to take place on Final Destination. This annoys me greatly. I When I played against other people in Melee, people chose a variety of stages and kept items on. In Brawl, whether local or online, people tend to pick only Final Destination and throw a hissy fit when they don't get to play exactly the way they want to. Most of these guys aren't even concerned if they win or lose. Why do they want to play in such a rigid and restricted way? Match #7 Olimar Rumble Falls I picked this because I was getting very frustrated with Final Destination, having put up for half an hour of it between this and the last match (the one on WarioWare where I was Ganondorf in Jun 21 08 B). Rumble Falls really tests your ability to adapt and be resourceful. As the "Anti Final Destination," it requires you to constantly adapt and be on the move, and you must actually aim projectiles. You can see varying levels of competency with this stage--and ability to make use of stage features--in each player. I was surprised Luigi took advantage of the rising platform to prevent me from getting on at about 0:54 into this video, for instance. Match #8 Marth Final Destination Yes, this is one of those matches. I chose this one to upload to present a big flaw in Final Destination's design: It produces a huge advantage in certain sttacks that span across horizontally. I illustrate this with Marth's Final Smash, the Critical Hit, which instantly KOs anyone it hits as Marth travels across the stage. This same type of domination can also happen with the Links' Triforce Slashes, as well as any projectile that doesn't dissipate or is reasonably fast. Battlefield is far fairer on characters with no projectiles or sweeping attacks. Match #9 Peach Pirate Ship And after two very lengthy match descriptions, here's a simpler match. After a while, I had enough and went to go play Team Battles. It was a lot of fun. One thing that's very amusing about Peach's Vegetables is that they negate almost any attack. You can ruin people's charge times or incoming attacks by throwing turnips at them.
