S403 Bathrooms plumbing systems. Operational, but far from neat or pretty. Doing the bathrooms will cost about Rs 2-3 lacs, with internal plumbing etc. The house structure is nearly 50 years old, and not very sound, thanks to Jain building illegally on top floors etc. Foundations have been weakened and inadequate.Plumbing etc screwed up and makeshift. Probably a knocking out of the old existing building and rebuilding may be solution. As can be seen with the water flowing, the water is available in all taps. Additionally with the gas geyser installed and functional, hot water is supplied to the 2 bathrooms, and kitchen. The Gas geyser is far more cost effective, quick to heat up the water as needed, vs the storage type electric geyser. Besides with electricity being about Rs 6.00 per unit (KwH), Using the geyser for about 10 hours a day, would cost about Rs 10* 30 6.00 =Rs 1800. Vs about Rs 400 for a gas cylinder, in a month. The gas geyser installed is a repaired unit from the 2 geysers that I had bought in 2007. The latest ones available in the market are of poor quality, and the person from whom I bought them and got repaired told me to manage a season, and only buy a new good quality one, next year. However it does work and we do get very hot water, with enough supply. With better plumbing and a new gas geyser things will be much better. But I wonder if the additional investment is worthwhile. Would appreciate your feedback on this jugad.
